Fraud in the World of Business, a Guest lecture by Chris Clements
Mr Clements has specialised in forensic accounting since 1996 and has a wealth of experience in fraud, investigation and expert witness work.
He commented: “Fraud is an increasing issue across the private sector, but more so in the public sector where any mitigation of losses due to fraud means that budgets don’t have to be cut elsewhere.”
In addition he is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a member of the Expert Witness Institute, the Academy of Experts, and is an accredited mediator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Paul Houghton, Principal Lecturer in Leeds Beckett’s Faculty of Business and Law, added: “Chris heads up Grant Thornton’s Forensic and Investigation Services team in Yorkshire. During his guest lecture he will talk about fraud within business and how, as a forensic accountant, his work involves him across a range of commercial activities. He will draw on actual cases he has worked on, what was involved and the steps taken to resolve matters.
